Guiding Questions

A) The Guiding Questions that our group has selected to do research on are:
(1)How is Japanese celebration of new year different from Singaporeans
(2)Why do japanese wear kimonos whereas Singaporeans
don't
(3)Why are the rice eaten by the japanese sticky whereas singaporeans don't eat sticky rice
(4)The differences between singaporean teenagers and Japanese teenager in terms of marriage

(B) The areas that our group will be doing research into are:
(1) How is Japanese celebration of new year different from Singaporeans
(2) Why do japanese wear kimonos whereas Singaporeans
don't
(3) Why do the Japanese wear clogs while Singaporean do not and what is the reason for wearing clogs
(4) The differences between singaporean teenagers and Japanese teenager in terms of marriage

(C) Our Progress, so far, is as follows:
We have started on the research and have not started on the movie but we will get to it soon

(D) The product that we are thinking of creating is as follows:
We will loan things that we are doing on such as the kimono etc. And do a video of what these are and why they are used by the japanese and the differences of Japan and Singapore's culture

WEEK 4 REFLECTION BY SHAWN CHOO

Facts : We have all agreed on 4 guiding questions to talk about in the video we are making . We did have a little problem in thinking about the questions as we had to come out with questions that do not require too much to explain as there is limited time in the video . We also could not come out with too short questions as they must be very well explained in order to score.

Ideas : We came out with questions like
-Why Singaporeans love japanese food so much ?
-Differences between Japanese culture and singapore culture
-Why Japanese wear kimonos ?
-Why do singapore teenagers love to listen to Japanese Song ?

Learning Issue : I have learnt that we have to talk about 4 guiding questions in the video . However , we have all selected our own question to research about as we have no time for all of us to meet up together . We will place it all together on nest tuesday after our lesson .

Action : I have researched on my question . We will put everyone 's research together . Hopefully , everyone does their part

Week 4 reflection-Darrence Ng

Facts
We have our guiding questions and can now have an idea on what to work on for them and have posted the guiding questions and are already working on them and the movie has to be shorter than we have expected
Ideas
We will be doing the differences of marriage between older generations and younger generations of japan and Singapore.Why do Japanese wear kimonos whereas Singaporeans do not etc.
Learning issue
I have learnt that we have to use the guiding questions to do the project and that we do not have to get together to do the project,instead we could split the job amongst ourselves
Action
We will stay back for half an hour on certain days of the week to discuss on the project, the parts we have to do and how to put the project together

Week 3 Reflection - Chong Jie

Facts
We have decided to use iMovie on our Macbooks to make a video. In it, we will talk about somethings involved with our project.

Ideas
We decided to either use pictures or real products to show for our presentation. We will also research on the cultures of both Singapore and Japan to compare our cultures' differences and similarities.

Learning Issues
We have learnt that we have to submit a new post on our blog every week, in which deadline is 9pm before the day our ipw lesson is in.

Actions
I think we could remind each other in school to complete whatever task is given to us.
